44 High Street is a wonderful, Grade II listed house, dating back to the 1850’s, one of a pair built from the beautiful, rich, coloured stone of the Cathedral of St Davids. Set right in the heart of this bustling tiny city, all its shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs are just yards from your door.
Renovated throughout, it retains all its original charm with beams, exposed stone walls and feature fire places, it is furnished in a stylish mix of antique pieces with a modern twist. The hallway which gives plenty of space for coats and walking boots leads to the lounge/diner with its wonderful wooden floor, cosy sofas and the wood burning stove ensures cosy evenings. Double doors open through to the well-equipped, modern, fitted kitchen, allowing you to enjoy open plan living. A French door leads out to the rear courtyard with steps up to a raised paved patio, a lovely spot to enjoy an alfresco meal on a summer’s evening and gives easy access to the rear parking. Stairs from the lounge lead up to the characterful bedrooms above with the 2 on the top floor nestling in the eaves and 2 wonderful shower rooms and further bathroom on the second floor.
Conveniently situated with all the facilities on your doorstep, spend time visiting the Cathedral and exploring the ruins of the Bishops Palace, the beach at Caerfai is less than a 1 mile walk away or Whitesands Beach renowned for surfing with both experts and beginners alike is only a short car trip. Join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to explore this stunning, rugged coast with its picturesque coves. There is something for everyone, a boat trip to Ramsey Island should not be missed especially in September to see the seal pups and be amazed by the bird and wild life.

Thank you for a wonderful stay in your lovely cottage! The location in the middle of St Davids is fab and everything is so comfy. We’ve been coming to Pembrokeshire for many years now and this is one of the few places we’ve stayed without spiders in every room! As usual we love the Pembrokeshire coastline and spent many days exploring the coast path around St Justinian’s, Carn Llidi and further down in Dale around St Aria’s head (where we saw lots of very cute baby cows!!) The Sloop is always a must; we had a lovely meal there, as well as our St Davids favourites such as The Farmers Arms. Whitesands and Newgale are as beautiful as ever, and we even made it into the sea with our boards once! Although the surf has been relatively quiet, the sun has been shining. Thanks again for such a lovely week.
We have enjoyed a delightful stay in sunny St Davids. Your house had everything we could wish for.
Many thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us, we had a delightful stay and visiting much of the region. Your home made for a very relaxing home base.
A lovely spot from which to discover the delights of South Wales. Can recommend the Reptile Experience in Saundersfoot - Ian the Reptile Ranger is an excellent host who is incredibly knowledgeable and the reptiles you come into contact with are a great way to spend a rainy morning / afternoon. The house is a spacious base an accommodates the needs of a larger family group. We are sorry to leave and miss going to the outdoor theatre at Carew Castle!
Great location, so handy for all local amenities an with great andy beaches Whitesands & Newgale on the doorstep. A good time to recharge and reset the clock. Property is well equipped and very comfortable. Had one of the best Sunday Roasts ever at Cwtch - just a hop and a skip from the front door. We’ll be back! Thank you.
Very central location, comfortable rooms. Had a great get together with our Aussie relatives!
A perfect location for a sisters and cousins get together and to reconnect with our Welsh heritage. We enjoyed the concert in the Cathedral. Thank you!
Gordon’s 60th Birthday Bash! Lovely time and thanks to Alex’s Dad for the photo book looking through that! Lovely place, everything we could have wished for and more. Very well equipped. Fabulous celebrating husband’s Big Birthday!
We have been coming to this area for 40 years and still love it - large family groups ranging from 85 to 14 years old. House is perfect location for us. Although the weather has been changeable we have had a great holiday - many thanks and thank you for the wine!
A most enjoyable family get together made wonderful by the superb weather and really comfortable accommodation. And very good to be back in Pembrokeshire after forty-odd years. Thank you so much.
We loved this house, especially the super comfortable beds. I had completely forgotten how beautiful the Pembrokeshire coastline is and St Davids is a gem. Thank you.
Our second Christmas staying in this lovely comfortable and well equipped house. The new bathrooms are a lovely added extra this year. Happy New Year to Alex, Nicola, Felix & Mollie!
We loved staying in this beautiful house over New Year. The house was beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed. Such a beautiful part of the world to explore - we’ll be back in the summer! Thank you from Claire, Carly, Gen, Sandrine, Nicola, Mark, Tim & Al from London, Los Angeles, Barcelona.
Beautiful house. Well equipped. Clean and comfortable. Bit sad to be going home! Had a really lovely break.
Another great week in this lovely house. Perfect situation and very comfortable with everything we need. Weather fairly mixed. Some nice meals at The Bishops and The Farmers Arms, lovely meat from the butchers. Thanks again!
A lovely cottage with everything we needed for a lovely 2 week family holiday. Ideally locate for all our days out and to unwind in the evenings. Food at The Farmers, The Bishops and The Sound Cafe all good and excellent value for money - although book ahead if you can. Thanks for a lovely holiday.
Lovely house so well equipped. Weather very kind and we had three lovely days on the beach. We have been coming to this area since 1990 and we just love it.
It is so unusual to stay in a cottage which has plenty of chopping boards, good sharp knives and bowls for the microwave! As well as that, the house is lovely - particularly the patio sun trap in the morning and we’ve enjoyed loads of coastal walks and visits to Whitesands. The girls are keen to start surfing soon and we have just started Geocaching. A great success. Thank you.
Perfectly equipped house, so comfortable and great selection of books and DVDs. We usually stay in Whitesands Bay but decided on town this year so we could walk everywhere and it was perfect for everyone. Gales all week but didn’t stop us taking long walks but no-one put on wetsuits and went in the sea! A first as we love surfing but… next time. We would love to come back here. Friday night and we don’t want to go home!!
We had an amazing week. Glorious sunshine all week. Some great walks - to Solva and back on the bus, from Trefin to Abereiddi via Porthgain for lunch at The Shed. And from Caerfai Bay round the coast towards St Justinians. We found the food in the pubs fairly similar - The Manor has the advantage of a big garden for kids to play football. We had a good meal at Cwtch. The boat trip round Ramsay Island was amazing and the kids loved the boat and seeing seals. We also did a fishing trip and just caught enough for a meal. A very enjoyable week.
Here celebrating 40th wedding anniversary with family & friends. Baking hot at the beginning of the week and windy at the end. Plenty of room and all the things we needed. St Davids is filling up with art galleries! The best (apart from Oriel Y Parc) is Goat Street Gallery run by an embroiderer and a potter. The food at Cwtch was good - best to go for the ‘early bird’ menu.
A very relaxing few days in the Pembrokeshire sunshine. No.44 is a haven of peace and a great place to return to after days on the beach. Really loved Marloes Sands and Whitesands - though do check the tide times! Hope we can come back to this beautiful house again!
We all really enjoyed our stay here, thanks! It’s very apparent how much thought and time has gone into trying to make the property well equipped and welcoming. Great feel to the property and location overall.
Lovely weekend, excellent well-appointed house in perfect location.
We really enjoyed our time in the house! Very impressed with the building and layout and finish throughout. Suited two families perfectly. We would definitely return!
Thank you for the loan of your holiday home. Lovely house and location. We have many happy memories os St Davids having had a caravan at Solva for 23 years. We look forward to coming again next year!
Thanks for a great trip! We loved your comfy beds and great location. The house is a wonderful place to relax - we spent lots of time by the fire and in the pub! We would love to come back.
We had the most amazing long weekend in your beautiful house, celebrating our 60th birthdays with our wonderful family. We wouldn’t change a thing! Thank you.
Have enjoyed our Christmas at 44 High Street - so much so that on Christmas Eve we booked for next year. Thank you for a lovely stay. See you next year!!
The best holiday home we have stayed in so far. We all came to attend our granddaughter’s christening at the cathedral, and it was a pleasure to come back here every evening. It has everything a large family needs and we didn’t need anything more. Thanks from all of us for the brief loan.
Beautiful, comfortable accommodation! We've had a lovely weekend. Many thanks!
Stayed for a lovely blowy weekend. The house is just beautiful, love the mix of old and new, and also all the artwork. Funky, quirky house and really well equipped. A lot of thought has gone into this house and I'm sure it's appreciated by others, as it was by us. Nice food at the Bishops and enjoyed sitting on the bench at Caerfai beach, just down the road. Thanks!
We had a happy Christmas Dinner for 10, made easy because of your wonderful kitchen facilities and lovely big table. The four of us who stayed here were comfortable throughout. A lovely home, enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
We have had a wonderful stay in this fabulous house. The mix of new and old furniture adds to the charm of the house. Well equipped throughout. Unfortunately the weather has been none too kind but we made the best of the beaches and coastal path. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful house.
Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful house. It's so comfortable, well-equipped, beautifully decorated and perfectly situated. We even mastered how to use the TV! Had a brilliant time exploring the area, the kids loved the boat trip we did to Ramsey Island (with Voyages of Discovery) and the beaches - Whitesands and Barafundle particularly. We must have eaten our combined bodyweight in Gianni's ice cream as well!
Super house - Thank you very much!
We had an amazing time here and I would love to come again. We went on some lovely walks and went to some lovely beaches. I enjoyed the boat trip we went on but I did get wet, plus I think my brother enjoyed that too. All in all it was amazing! And we went to see an open air theatre performance called 'Oh What a Lovely War' and that was my fave!
Of all the houses we've stayed in here (and there are lots!) this is definitely one of the best. Lovely house, great facilities, very comfy and we also love the art around the house! Done all the usual things - Whitesands, Farmers Arms - we won the Thursday quiz! Thanks for a great stay.
Simply wonderful. Beautiful house, blue skies and endless beach - we absolutely loved it.
We had a wonderful stay. The house is so comfortable and the house is perfect. We had an amazing boat trip (so many seals) a Jenga battle at the Bishops and loads of fun at the beach. There is so much to see and do in St David's itself with wonderful coastal scenery at every turn I could explore for weeks and not get bored!. The kids want to live here and so do we!
